Today, we’re talking all about TICAL. This cannabis brand and lifestyle movement was launched by the infamous Method Man and just launched this summer in our store!

Who is TICAL?

TICAL, which stands for Taking Into Consideration All Lives, is a cannabis brand started by rapper and producer Method Man from Wu-Tang. The brand launched in California in 2020 and has since expanded to other states, including Colorado, Michigan, and our beloved home state of Massachusetts. While TICAL has gone national, they’ve still stayed true to the culture and have a ton of respect in both the hip-hop and cannabis scenes.

Why Rasta Rootz is Partnering with TICAL

We’re super intentional about who we work with and the brands we bring into our space. When we decided to partner with TICAL, it wasn’t just because it’s Method’s Man brand (even though we’ve been Wu-Tang fans since the mid-90s). It was about what they stand for, how they move, and how aligned they are with our values.

How We Got Introduced to TICAL

As Wu-Tang and Method Man fans since 1996, we’ve had TICAL on our radar since we heard about the brand coming to Massachusetts. However, we weren’t totally sold on having their products on our shelves until we found out where the cannabis was coming from.

When we learned it was being grown by Advanced Cultivators, another one of our partners, it was a no-brainer. We also heard about how TICAL’s people in the area were great to work with and all about culture, so we were excited to get connected with them.

What We Love About TICAL

What separates TICAL in Massachusetts from other MSOs (multi-state operators) is their commitment to culture first. We heard firsthand how Method Man and his partners, “Z” and “Nutta,” personally test all the flower before approving any cultivation partnerships.

They’re not just putting any cannabis in a bag and slapping a logo on it, and we loved that vibe.

Plus, they make it a point to support Black and Brown-owned, women-owned, and mom-and-pop-style dispensaries. TICAL is also committed to keeping its products at a price point that the people can actually afford. Accessibility matters, and TICAL gets that. These things only reinforced that this was a brand we wanted to build with.

Our Team’s TICAL Favorites

Right now, our staff can’t get enough of the ACT RIGHT and LOVE JONES strains. These also happen to be the two most popular TICAL strains on our menu. ACT RIGHT is a hybrid cross of Sherbet Bx1 x Ice Cream Cake. It has a sweet flavor profile and happy, euphoric effects. LOVE JONES is an indica strain, made by crossing (White Runtz x Jet Fuel Gelato) x (Horchata x Grape Gas #10). It tastes like candy and gas, and will leave you feeling relaxed and creative.

We’re just getting started with this partnership. In the next few weeks, we’ll be dropping official TICAL merch in the store. To top it all off, Wu-Tang Clan is coming to Boston for a concert on July 11, 2025. We’re hyped to be doing a giveaway for two VIP tickets to the show!
